Franciscan University Nursing Programs Receive Accreditation

STEUBENVILLE, OHIO—Franciscan University of Steubenville’s bachelor of science, master of science, and post-graduate advanced practice registered nurse certificate nursing programs have been granted accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. This accreditation action is for five years and was effective as of February 17, 2016. The program was previously accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.

The CCNE is the accrediting body of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, which represents more than 790 member schools of nursing at public and private institutions nationwide. The CCNE accreditation is a non-governmental peer-review process that operates in accordance with nationally recognized standards of accreditation.

Founded in 1979, Franciscan University’s bachelor of science nursing program currently has 160 students with 61 students in the master of science and post-graduate advanced practice registered nurse certificate nursing programs.
